As we start to ease ourselves off of a hard winter, many are anxious to get outside and enjoy our camping weekends.  While every unit should be vigilant about practicing fire safety on EVERY camping trip, it is especially important this time of year until late May or early June when the forest and brush are green.

John Chester , 23 of Petersburg was awarded the Honor Medal with Crossed Palms by his Boy Scout Troop 79 for donating two-thirds of his liver to a friend's brother, Jeff Doerr, 28, of Marmora. Both men are former Troop members as well as Eagle Scouts.

Reminder: Sign up for the first annual Quakesen District Recognition Dinner. The dinner will be at 7:00 PM on April 25th, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church- 125 Garden St. Mt. Holly, NJ 08060. We will be awarding the District Award of Merit and will be recognizing other leaders and units from the Quakesen District. Nominations for the District Award of Merit are due by March 15th.  Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Quakesen District web page. Hard copies of the nomination form are also available at the Rancocas Scout store.

Greetings from the Great Northland!

Once again a successful Klondike Derby has come and gone with everyone reporting a good time had by all. Despite the rain on Friday night 121 scouts and 56 leaders from 19 troops braved the elements and camped out.
