AUGUST SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL:
Won't You Be My Neighbor?
All month long is a Sunday School Special that is all about being a good neighbor! We will be looking at the story of the Good Samaritan and creating our own interpretation with fun games and art projects all along the way.
When? 10am, after the 9am service
Where? The Adams Room
Who? Children of all ages!

Explore each character in the Good Samaritan with costumes, props, games, and more!

Worship this Week: 9am Family Eucharist!
Join us this Sunday in the 9am service for Family Eucharist! This service is our once-a-month family friendly Eucharist that encourages children to participate in worship. Michele will offer a fun Children's Reflection during the service as well! Hope to see you there! |

Aug. 14 + 22: CHGM FAMILY NIGHT!
St. Mark's is once again hosting the back to school Family Night for Capitol Hill Group Ministries' shelter families on Monday, August 22 in Baxter Hall. Just as the youth wrapped gifts for the Christmas Family Night, we are stepping up again to stuff back packs to be distributed at the dinner so that the kids are ready for school!
ALL FAMILIES AND YOUTH-- Join us on Sunday, August 14 at 11am in the Adams Room to help us stuff the back packs with school supplies and again on Monday, August 22 to help out at the dinner! These are activities are great for children and families of all ages!

Aug. 28: Service Trips Celebration Pub Lunch!
ALL PARISHIONERS Join us in Baxter Hall after the 11:15am service on Sunday, August 28 for a special celebration of our High School and Middle School summer service trips! Come for a yummy lunch, hear the youth share about their experiences, and watch a picture video recapping each trip. This is a great way to support the youth program and to let us say thank you for making these summer trips a success!

September 11: Parish Picnic!
After the 10am Service on Sunday, September 11 we will have parish-wide lunch to kick off the new school year! Join us for food and games in Baxter Hall and the church courtyard.

Sept. 17-18: Middle School Lock In!
Kick off the school year with your St. Mark's family and join us for a night of food, movies, games, and general mayhem at our fall Middle School Lock In!
When: Saturday, September 17 at 6:30pm - Sunday, September 18 at 11am Where: St. Mark's Episcopal Church Who: 6th-8th Graders (bring a friend!) Cost: $20 Registration deadline: September 12 Theme: Inside Out!

September 18: Fall Parents Meeting!
ALL PARENTS are encouraged to join us in the Adams Room at 10am on Sunday, September 18 for an informational meeting regarding important fall dates, events, and activities for St. Mark's Youth and Family Ministries. This is an oppotunity to connect with other parents, learn how to become more involved at St. Mark's, and sign up to volunteer.

Safeguarding God's Children: Fall Training Dates!
|
|
The Fall training dates Safeguarding God's Children, the required child abuse prevention training offered by the diocese, have been announced.
This training is required for any volunteers working with children and youth (including Christian education leaders) who have not completed a child abuse and sexual misconduct prevention program in the last three years and is strongly encouraged for anyone who wishes to learn more about how their parish can protect children and youth.
Please register for one of these Saturday sessions and encourage others to join us in ensuring the safety and well-being of our youth program!
