Saturday, 5pm: Catechesis Potluck!
On Saturday, March 12 at 5pm in Baxter Hall, all families of children currently enrolled or interested in our Catechesis Sunday School classes are invited to join Catechesis teachers for a potluck dinner. This will be a time to get to know fellow St. Mark's parents and the Catechesis teachers, hear more about Catechesis, and receive information about ways to get involved in the Adult Christian Education program at St. Mark's.
Please bring a salad, main dish, or dessert to share. Join us! Please contact Nora Howell to sign up.

Saturday, 6:30pm: Middle School Lock-In!
Calling all Middle School Youth! Join us for a fun overnight experience in our very own church building! We will play tones of games, eat lots of food, and stay up too late. Our theme for the weekend will be "Telling Stories." You don't want to miss it!
We will meet at St. Mark's at 6:30pm on March 12 and wrap the weekend up after 10am worship the following morning, March 13.
PARENTS OF ALL AGES: We are still in need of an overnight chaperon! If you are at all available or interested, please email Caroline. I promise you will have a quiet place to sleep!

Worship this Week: Children's Chapel!
Even though this is a Family Eucharist Sunday, due to the combined services, we WILL have Children's Chapel! Gather in the Nave at 10am and head up to the Dance Studio with Justi for a time of singing, creative prayer, and fun worship. Don't forget to bring some loose change to contribute to the Children's Chapel offering! See you there! |
Sunday: Annual Meeting!
The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 13. There will be a single 10am service followed by a Pub Lunch before the 12:30pm meeting. There is no Sunday School that day, but there will be activities for children and youth in the Undercroft so that parents can participate in the meeting.
Parents, are you eligible to vote in the Annual Meeting?
In order to be able to vote for parish leaders at the meeting, please consider making a financial pledge for 2016 if you have not already done so. Becoming a pledging member of St. Mark's means committing to support the parish this year with your financial contributions. Every dollar contributed goes toward supporting St. Mark's operating budget - and that means supporting the Youth Activities budget. You do not even need to commit to a specific contribution - there is a place on the pledge form for simply promising to contribute what you can when you can. If you have not done so already, please consider becoming a pledging member. Pledge forms are available in the racks along the Nave wall.
We also need at least 2 volunteers to help supervise children and youth activities during the meeting. Contact Caroline if you are available!

March 26: Holy Saturday Vigil for Families
This Holy Week we are offering a fun and creative way for families to engage in the story of this liturgical season. We are calling it the "Holy Saturday Vigil for the Young and the Restless," and it will take place on Saturday, March 26 from 2pm-3pm at St. Mark's.
This event simulates a journey through Holy Week, but we will find ourselves a few steps behind Jesus at every turn. Along the way we will encounter a few people who help to tell the story and show us where to go next as we move closer and closer to Easter Sunday.
Led by our wonderful clergy and some very animated parishioners, this will be a great way to experience the story of Holy Week as a family while we all prepare for Easter Sunday. Questions? Email Caroline!

April 2: NEW Parents Group!
Do you have children? Is church the one place you can occasionally hear yourself think? Consider joining the new St Marks Parents Group! The group is just getting off its feet and will meet for the first time on Saturday, April 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Baxter Hall. We hope to have fun, thoughtful conversation about faith and our families, share delicious pot-luck meals and draw from the wisdom and support of one another. Babysitting (by Caroline and some St Marks teens) and a pizza dinner will be provided for your children. REGISTER NOW!
Based on interest, this group may skew towards parents of younger children (11 and under), BUT we are also in the process of putting together a similar group for parents of tweens/teens so let Caroline know if you are interested!
