KBOO At The Clinton presents: The Yes Men Are Revolting, this Thursday

For two decades, the Yes Men have pulled off spectacular media hoaxes to expose corporate crimes. Now, these hilarious activists are approaching middle age, struggling to stay inspired in their fight against climate change. Can they get it together before the ice caps melt?

Find out this Thursday, August 13th at 7pm, for our monthly KBOO fundraiser at the Clinton Street Theater, 2522 SE Clinton Street, in Portland! Before the film, we'll be sharing a few of the Yes Men's very first Portland-based exploits.

Afterwards, a discussion panel with Miguel Robles of the Soil Not Oil Campaign, Nick Caleb of the Climate Action Coalition, Hyung Kyu Nam, and Teresa Roberts of Portland Rising Tide will discuss the current #sHELLNO campaign.

Afrikan Hip Hop Caravan Benefit Show, August 29th from 6-9pm

Come party with Portland Hip Hop artists Mic Crenshaw and Rasheed Jamal, and help them raise funds for the Afrikan Hip Hop Caravan in November, as they go to various countries in Africa hosted by African Hip Hop collectives. This event, hosted at Columbia International Cup (located at 9022 N Newman Ave., in Portland,) is all ages and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

KBOO is participating in the 2015 National Radio Day!

Our goal is to raise the visibility of non-commercial radio and to build a common project that all public and community stations can participate in. There's a Radio Relay, Promo Share, and Sonic ID Pool - we'll be giving shout-outs to stations all over the US!
