The GITH Music and Food festival is the largest multi-cultural festival in the Pacific NW.  This three-day music festival opens with a community parade that travels through Northeast Portland and ends at Lillis-Albina Park.

 

When: 6/27-6/29

Where: Lillis Albina Park  

 

Join the March on Saturday 6/28 at King School 4906 NE 6th Ave at 11AM.

 

The festival features the best entertainment in the NW, a variety of cultural food vendors, an Information Village, a KidSpace arts & craft area, and an Ethnic Marketplace.

 

Its mission is to promote the cultural aspects of the N/NE community. It is celebrating over 18 years of attracting thousands of residents from neighborhoods throughout Portland.

 

KBOO Community Radio will be broadcasint LIVE from the event on Saturday, June 28th, from 2-7:00 p.m.

KBOO is excited to sponsor the 27th Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival. 7/3-7/6 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
 
 
 
 

Like last year, KBOO's broadcast will be simulcast all over the state on member stations of Oregon Community Media (OCM).  

 

Broadcast hours will be approximately from Noon-10PM.

 

OCM is open to community licensees to provide support and assistance in the development of local noncommercial media in order to support and nurture strong independent stations throughout Oregon.

 

Currently, KSKQ in Ashland has committed to broadcasting the whole festival and stations KMUZ in Salem, KPOV in Bend, and KYAC-LPFM Mill City will be broadcasting part of the festival.

 

 
Remember this is a benefit for the Oregon Food Bank. Please remember to bring food items for those in need. Click here for a list of the most needed foods.

KBOO and the Clinton Street Theater have partnered to bring you a monthly film series about....well, it could be about radio, or about anyone of the many programs that KBOO airs--politics, labor, human rights, and, of course, lots of music.

 

A new film every second Thursday of the month, so stayed tuned to the radio and check back on the website, because you never know what might be happening month to month.

 

Tonight's program is brought to us by THE MELTING POT, the best in International Electronica. Tuesdays 8-10pm. 90.7fm in Portland, OR.

On Thursday, July 17th the Surfrider Portland Chapter is hosting the Oregon Summer Soiree at the Holocene (1001 SE Morrison) in Portland from 6pm to 1am!

 

The fundraiser will include an Art Show, Silent Auction, Se7en Signs film screening, raffle, music by the Everyday Prophets and much more! 

 

Proceeds will benefit the Portland Chapter of Surfrider's 'Clean Water Campaign'. Special thanks to Dick's Sporting Goods and all of our other sponsors!
