KBOO is delighted to co-sponsor creative, educational and engaging community events.  May is a very busy month for our community partnerships.  Check out these upcoming events! For more info visit kboo.fm.

Join us on Saturday, May 3, 2014, as nearly three hundred cities worldwide, including Portland, will participate in the fifteenth annual Global Cannabis March. Portland participants will gather in Pioneer Courthouse Square to march at high noon through downtown Portland, accompanied by a police escort.

The keynote speaker for the event will be our own Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer, (District 3). He will be speaking immediately following the march.

On what would have been Pete Seeger's 95th birthday, we honor his life and his legacy with song and remembrances. This event is come and go as you please.

Steve Early, "How Unions Organize to Win"
Arun Gupta, "The Wal-Mart Working Class"
Johanna Brenner, "Organizing the Working Class: what does feminism have to do with it?"
Please join KBOO for a short discussion with bee experts on how you can right now help save our bees, and a screening of the delightful and inspiring film Queen of the Sun. This is a joint benefit for Sunnyside Environmental School Garden Program, and KBOO Community Radio.
"Journey of Man." How did the human race populate the world? A group of geneticists have worked on the question for a decade, arriving at a startling conclusion: the "global family tree" can be traced to one African man who lived 60,000 years ago. Dr. Spencer Wells hosts this innovative series, featuring commentary by expert scientists, historians, archaeologists, and anthropologists.
We'll be broadcasting a 2 hour 90's remix & mashup special live on 90.7fm KBOO and you can be a part of it. Feel free to dress up in your favorite 90's outfits, wigs and costumes or wear whatever makes you comfortable.
$7.00 admission, includes skates

This is a family friendly event for all ages...
