cphance & Express Your Selfie

Please join us Friday, April 24 from 6-8 pm at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra for the opening reception of two incredible shows benefiting Art with a Heart in Healthcare.

cphace
cphace is an exhibit created by renowned photographer and AWAHIH founding board member laird. The series consists of cropped, flopped, and merged photography to create a new original image. Laird is generously donating 40 percent of his proceeds of opening night art sales to Art with a Heart in Healthcare.

Express your Selfie

AWAHIH's "Express your Selfie" show presents the photography and mixed-media exhibition of talented patient artists from Wolfson Children's Hospital. If you have not had a chance to see it in town here is your chance at the beach!

Wolfson 55

The Wolfson 55 event celebrates patients' lives featuring 55 children who represent Wolfson and share their inspiring stories. AWAHIH participated in the family-friendly festivities that took place throughout the day by offering painting sessions with our team of artists. Thank you to our artists, staff and board members who came out to support this great event. The Art of Giving

Thank you First Tenessee

We greatly appreciate the generosity of

First Tennessee for their donation of 50 Art-to-Go bags filled with wonderful art supplies. These bags are given to patients at Wolfson Children's Hospital. Thank you First Tennessee!

Ronald McDonald House Extension

We are pleased to announce the extension of our services to the Ronald McDonald House through May 2017. We plan extending our services as Ronald McDonald House grows. Thank you Ronald McDonald House for allowing AWAHIH to grow with you.

Baptist Health 2014
Social Responsibility Report

Art with a Heart in Healthcare (AWAHIH) was recognized in the Baptist Health Annual Social Responsibility Report of 2014, focusing on the presence and impact of our services in Behavioral Health. It is with great appreciation to the Woodcock Foundation that has made this possible for our Music and Story Telling artist Ajamu Mutima to be a weekly presence for the past eight years. AWAHIH also conducts group art sessions with the patients in Behavioral Health three times a week.

In Sevice Meeting

Staff, Resident Artists and Volunteers came together for an in-service meeting day to brainstorm future projects and best practices for Art with a Heart in Healthcare. The importance of sharing ideas with our growing group of artists was wonderful and it will help us to further the quality of our service while we continue to expand. Thank you to Fred Caldwell, Wolfson Children's Hospital Chaplain for being our guest speaker.

Graduate Student Presentation

Co-Founder Lori Guadagno and resident artist Josh Bergesen gave the graduate students of Brooks College of Health at UNF a presentation on AWAHIH and it's programs as well as a hands on demonstration. Thank you Professor Natalie Indelicato for the opportunity to share our program with your students.

Hendricks Baptist Church

Thank you Hendricks Baptist Church for displaying AWAHIH patients photograph in your beautiful gallery. Art with a Heart spoke to the members about the wonderful affect art has in the healing process for our patients and their families.

Visiting Artist Series

We would like to thank Angels for Allison for being our visiting artist in March. Angels for Allison donated beautiful metal Angels to be painted by and for our patients. They made great inspirational decorations for so many of the patient's rooms. For more information on Angels for Allison please go to http://www.angelsforallison.org/

Our own team of artists led an enthusiastic group of patients and families in celebrating Valentines Day. Patients and families embraced the holiday by painting and decorating copper hearts.
