KEEP TRACK OF LOST OR DESTROYED CHECKS

It's important to track all checks, even the ones that will never clear the bank. Auditors often require information on missing check numbers, so you want to be prepared when these questions arise.

To track these lost or destroyed checks, go the Transactions >> Financial >> Bank Transaction Entry.

To record a destroyed or lost check, enter a Bank Transaction with a Type of Check. Be sure to enter $0.00 for the check amount. Because this is a zero transaction, distributions aren't necessary.
