LIMA, PERU - Lima hosted the fifth annual China-Latin America Business Summit, which took place from November 21 to 22, 2011, with the goal of expanding and creating relationships between the Chinese and Latin American business communities.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA - WTCA will launch its Chinese web site (www.wtca.org/chinese) in early December as the core component of a China-focused marketing infrastructure to boost member services and WTCA promotion in this key growth market, where one fifth of the world's population lives.

 

WARSAW, POLAND - During a meeting this past October, Dr. Andrzekj Arendarski, chairman of WTC Warsaw, signed a bilateral trade agreement on Poland's behalf with the visiting Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.  

 

 

Tacoma ChinaBEIJING, CHINA - On October 10, 2011, Anthony Hemstad, president and CEO of WTC Tacoma, and Annie Zhou Molina, China desk specialist of WTC Tacoma, attended a ceremony awarding Mr. Chen Feng, chairman of HNA Group, a Chinese air transportation company, with honorary Washington state citizenship.

 

BANGALORE, INDIA - WTC Bangalore, jointly with the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (an apex body of Indian export promotion organizations set up by the Indian Ministry of Commerce) organized a seminar titled "Impact Of The Global Uncertainty And Its Impact On India's Exports" on November 11, 2011. 

 

 

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA - On October 25, 2011, WTC Bucharest and

WTC Guangzhou concluded a MOU stating that in order to strengthen their trade exchanges and cooperation, the parties undertake to foster trade and economic relations between the companies and firms of both cities and regions they serve.    

 

ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA - In July 2011, WTC St. Petersburg launched its International Business Club to attract more business, investments, and interest to the region and to provide a forum for legislative and executive authorities, entrepreneurs, managers, specialists, scientists and experts from all over the world to discuss matters in different economic fields.


MUMBAI, INDIA - On October 31, WTC Mumbai and
the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) hosted a reception to welcome U.S. Consul General in Mumbai Peter Haas and his spouse.  

  

 

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA, USA - WTC Charleston, which opened on September 27, 2011, will conduct its first educational program on February 3, 2012. 

 

MARSEILLE, FRANCE - The WTC Marseille Language Center has just won the bid launched by the city of Marseille to help train in English, Spanish and Italian over 500 agents acting as hosts to visitors to the city that will become a European Capital of Culture in 2013.  

 

 

TWENTE, THE NETHERLANDS - HoSt Bio-Energy Installations, based in Enschede, the Netherlands, is the winner of the WTC Twente Export Award 2011.

 

 

ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS - Beurs-WTC Rotterdam's Art Foundation, an initiative created to unite business and art, joined with a number of local groups to organize WTCulture Event 2011, which took place on October 9.

BEIJING, CHINA - Following the successful conclusion of the 2010 WTCA General Assembly, Beijing is going to host another major WTCA event in 2012.

 

MOSCOW, RUSSIA - The enlarged meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (RF CCI) took place at WTC Moscow on October 28, 2011.

JIAXING, CHINA - While people tend to reserve a phrase like 'power to change the world' for a number of major countries or technology giants such as Apple, Google, and Facebook, a medium-sized city in the booming Yangtze River Delta of China thinks WTCA can do it with its global network.

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, USA - In November, WTC Utah had the honor of hosting Ambassador João Vale de Almeida, head of the delegation of the European Union to the United States, and Sergey I. Kislyak, ambassador of Russia to the United States.

ALMERE, THE NETHERLANDS - Like the WTCs of the Netherlands in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Leeuwarden and Twente, WTC Almere has become one of the certified WTCs of WTCA.

LIMA, PERU - October has been a very difficult month for the economies of the Eurozone, United States, and Latin American countries that depend on European and American markets for their exports.


ROGERS, ARKANSAS, USA - On October 9, 2011, WTC Arkansas and three American companies participated in the 42nd WTCA General Assembly in São Paulo, Brazil.

 

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, USA - During the 2011 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF), which took place from October 21 to November 11, Professor Nelson Pilosof, president of WTC Montevideo, presided over the presentation of the Seashell Award, a trophy designed by Uruguayan artist Jesus Sosa, to the makers of The Artist, which won Best Picture.

 

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - The upcoming "Think Bicycle, Think Taiwan" event highlights the Taiwanese bicycle industry's hard-earned success over the years and the high regard in which Taiwanese bicycles are held by international visitors.


MUMBAI, INDIA - On November 9, WTC Mumbai hosted a luncheon for Mr. Rafal Baniak, Polish deputy minister of the economy, and Professor Piotr Klodowski, Polish ambassador to India.


LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, USA - WTC Las Vegas, in partnership with the Consumer Electronics Association® (CEA), will host a business networking breakfast on January 12, 2012 in the WTC's Las Vegas Convention Center.

ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS - On October 2, 2011, the entire Dutch music industry gathered at Beurs-WTC Rotterdam for the presentation of the Edison Awards, an annual prize awarded for outstanding musical achievement.
