GradeReportsGrade Report for March 27

Report Cards

A weighted grade report will be posted in the registration system on Wednesday, March 27. Look for this report:

"Spring 2013 Third Grading Period Rpt Due March, 25th 2013 (contains EC grades)"

Here are the fields on the report:

  • Grading Period 3 = Numeric grades posted here.  NOTE: This will be Grading Period 1 for Traditional Calendar Block courses and Grading Period 3 for Traditional Calendar Yearlong courses.
  • Comment = Instructors will leave feedback for all students here.
Special Note: NCVPS has had a number of Blackboard outages over the last week. Blackboard is working on these issues. Our teachers will be very flexible with students during this time. Teachers will give students opportunities to make up missing work due to the outages.  We will post a corrected grade report in the registration system about a week after the initial grade report is posted on March 27.  Teachers will alert ELAs about grade changes for their students.

TechPageNCVPS Tech Requirements

NewsNCVPS has a number of basic technical requirements for computers that students use for our course work. Schools must be aware of these requirements.  If students work from home, both the school and parents should we aware of these requirements. Many of our Virtual Support Center ticket resolutions are just simple Java updates or switching browsers.

Please click here to see our technical requirements page.

APTextsAP Textbooks and Time Requirements

NewsAs you register students for 2013-2014 Advanced Placement courses, be aware of the textbook requirements for schools and time commitment for students.  Each AP course has a textbook requirement and students have about 90 minutes of coursework a day, plus additional study time.

TownhallNCVPS Town Halls with the Districts

NewsNCVPS is in the process of writing its Strategic Plan for the next three years, and as one of our valuable stakeholders, we would love your input!

We are holding two virtual Town Halls just for you!  During this time, you will hear from NCVPS Leadership about our three year Strategic Plan and the thinking behind it.  We would love to hear your input during this open forum, and you will have the opportunity to provide feedback through a brief survey.

The Town Halls will be held on Monday, April 15 at 4pm and Thursday, April 18 at 10am.

The link for the virtual Live Classroom is here:  http://ncvpsclassroom.wimba.com/launcher.cgi?room=_ncvps_s__8073_1_122559

Prior to the Town Hall, please allow time to run the "Set up Wizard" on your computer.  You will find this on the right hand side of your screen once you click on the link above.  Then you can choose the "Participant Login" and enter the Live Classroom.

We hope to see you at one of the Town Halls!

PowerSchoolPowerSchool Update

News NCVPS will transition to PowerSchool for its registration process during the summer of 2013.  Schools will continue to use our registration system for Summer 2013 course registration and grade delivery, as usual.  However, Fall 2013, Yearlong 13-14 and Spring 2014 class registration will be transitioned to the PowerSchool system in June/July.  For these affected semesters, NCVPS will begin enrollment in the current registration system on March 1st, then all of its registration data will be imported into PowerSchool during the Year-End-Transition (YET) process.  After July, schools will begin using PowerSchool to enroll for NCVPS courses.

The PowerSchool system will include enrollment and reporting features for NCVPS registration.  NCVPS is working closely with PowerSchool administrators to assure the initial NCVPS data requirements are met to make the transition as seamless as possible.

We will send updates in the days ahead to include training information from the PowerSchool team. NCVPS is excited by this partnership and the enhanced registration processes and data management of NCVPS enrollments.

RegistrationRegistration Open for 2013-2014
News

Registration for NCVPS courses is now open for the 2013 - 2014 school year.  DPI has not released your new allotment totals yet.  Currently, we started you off with your allotment totals that you had for the 2012-2013 school year.  We will adjust when the new numbers come in, which should be soon.  You will likely see an increase in your allotment totals after the adjustment.

With new legislation in 2012, schools will not need to request additional funds for the academic school year 2013-14. If they exceed their projection, funds will automatically become available to cover additional enrollments. A revenue reserve is available to all schools and other state funding sources are now available to cover additional enrollment needs.

If you have any difficulties, please open a ticket at the Virtual Support Center here: http://www.help.ncvps.org/

Here are the enrollment options for the 2013-2014 school year:
