Spring Newsletter
March 2014

Happy, Happy Spring!   It has been a long, cold winter and I am so thankful warmer weather is on its way. Let the sun shine, the rain fall and new growth begin for nature and our hearts and souls.  Spring is full of new beginnings and endless possibilities.  We have exciting things to share with you.  Please take a few minutes to check out what is happening at the Child & Family Guidance Center.

Executive Director
Child & Family Guidance Center of Texoma
  Welcome New Board Members
The Child & Family Guidance Center Board is comprised of an amazing group of community leaders who govern, advocate, support and promote the services of the Center.

At the January 9th Annual Meeting the following new members were sworn in for a three year term:              Karen Castleman, Michelle Castle, Harold Rogers and Mike Wynne.  Welcome!
The 2014 Board will be led by the following officers:  Joe Fallon, president, Kelly Ashmore, past president, Tim Blalock, president elect, Jana Endler, treasurer and Twila Crick, secretary.  We are in good hands!

Caring for our Clients is what WE DO!
Early in 2014 CFGC implemented the CARE CALL Program.  Our therapists take the extra step to call new clients who fail to attend their first scheduled appointment and all active clients who fail to call to cancel a scheduled appointment.  This advanced level of care is making a BIG difference to our clients. Clients are thankful for the call. It shows how much they are cared for.

Client Quote:
"The atmosphere in the center is amazing!  It's a warm, nurturing and loving environment.  My daughter and I are blessed to be working with our therapist who clearly is called to this work.  Thank you!"

Please join us at the Texoma Builders Home & Garden Show on March 29 & 30th.  We will be there Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm at our booth and helping with ticket sales.  It's going to be bigger and better than ever. Don't miss it!  Admission $3.00 per person.  Proceeds benefiting the Center.   Thank you Home Builders Association of Grayson, Fannin & Cooke Counties for supporting us.

THANK YOU...Operation Warm Fuzzy Blanket Project Volunteers!

Thanks to wonderful volunteers each new child treated at CFGC receives a soft, cuddly OWF blanket of their choosing. This special gift helps them start the process of healing and moving forward. They feel special and cared for. This program would not be possible without the generous donations of funds, fleece and hours spent by volunteers making the blankets.   The project was founded in 2004 by 16 year old Sarah Fallon who wanted to help disadvantaged children.  10 years later the project is still going strong and greatly needed.
