LAB5 celebrated our 2nd Anniversary April 9th! LAB5 is committed to being Seattle's premiere fitness studio and will continue to strive for excellence through innovative programming, professional training, and commitment to member experiences. We are truly amazed by the achievements of our members over the last two years and congratulate you all on your tremendous efforts.

 

To say thank you, we've made staying fit easier. Upcoming changes to policies and pricing reflect appreciation of our Members and are designed to provide options for a variety of needs. Please take a moment to review some changes to our policies and contact us if you need a recommendation about the program or package best suited to you. A complete listing of options are detailed on our website.  New plans available immediately.  Look forward to revised policies going into effect on May 1.

 

Our monthly passes are designed to reward consistent effort. The more you come, the more you save and Dabblers, now valid 6 months from purchase date, are designed for maximum scheduling flexibility.

 

Scheduling: We have eliminated scheduling restrictions on 5x a week and Daily passes. Members will now be able to schedule their 20 or 30 sessions whenever they want, and can even attend more than one session per day. Members can now book future classes without restriction, whether you have purchased Dabblers or are on a monthly auto renewing Pass

 

Pass Expiration: All monthly auto renewing pass members will have 35 days from the date of purchase to utilize their pass. It will no longer be necessary to request vacation time as 5 extra days each month are provided to get your sessions in!  If you are going on an extended vacation LAB5 will freeze your account once every calendar year for monthly pass holders. If you require additional freezes of your account, we offer a $35 hold fee to accommodate each request.

 

Discounted Single Sessions Reward Pass: Auto- renewing members who want to get in an extra visit can now purchase unlimited additional sessions at $15 - a 60% saving over the single visit 

 

Reduced Fees: As we have limited space in our small group fitness classes, it is important to continue our accountability policy. However, $15 Late Cancel and $25 NO Show fees have been reduced. Cancellations occurring 12 hours prior to the commencement of a class incur NO FEES. ALL cancellations within 12 hours of class will now incur a $5 Late Cancel Fee and registered members who No Show will be assessed a $10 fee, regardless of membership. Our focus this week is on research and writings of Mark Bittman.  Mark is an American food journalist, author, and columnist for The New York Times.  He is a graduate of Clark University and has appeared on NBC's The Today Show and NPR's All Things Considered.
 
 
Bittman's goals in Food Matters are summed up on the book's cover: "Lose Weight Heal the Planet."  The losing-weight part is a classic dieting saga - in this case, Bittman's own personal journey of slimming by cutting back on animal products and junk food and embracing more whole grains and produce.  The healing-the-planet part is the book's political angle - in this case, Bittman's call to readers to follow his dietary example and thereby reduce the damage caused to the planet by our current system of intensive animal husbandry.
