 SOFIA IN THE HOUSE
From performing on Broadway to Pilates on Broadway, Steven Sofia leaps from NY to Seattle. Check out his amazing story and get ready for his master classes. A Broadway veteran performer and dance captain, Steven has served on the dance faculty at NYU, and was Christie Brinkley's (fashion model and actress) personal dance instructor for her Broadway debut in the stage play Chicago. We are so excited to have Steven join our team! Beginning March 19th, Steven will introduce two NEW CLASSES to LAB5 members on Tuesday and Thursday: 10am MAT Pilates and an Advanced Purist class 8am Thursday . In addition, he will conduct Purist classes on our Reformer, Tuesday and Thursday 11am. Be sure to sign up early as we anticipate classes will fill up quickly. If you want to get to know Steven a bit better, be sure to read his inspirational story here. If you truly want to be inspired, join him for class.

Anything else you'd like to share?
I've lost 100 lbs and counting over the last few years and I've probably tried every gimmick and diet out there (I'm just now able to eat grapefruit again...). The only thing that actually works is BALANCE. I eat healthy and sensibly 85% of the time and make fitness a regular part of my life. My body responds naturally and I've found a way to to keep my weight and health in check for the long haul (without having to skip all of life's many reasons to celebrate!).

Split Decisions
Ever walk into a room and forget why you came? Blame the doorway. University of Notre Dame researchers have shown that doorways serve as "event boundaries": Because the brain associates certain memories of events with locations, entering a new room can make it hard to recall a decision you came to in the one you just left.
Dress The Part to Act Smart
In a study at Northwestern University, researchers had subjects wear white coats while performing a test that measured attention. One group was told they had on doctors' coats; the other, painters' coats. Subjects in the first group outperformed those in the second by nearly 30 percent, suggesting that the effect our clothes have on us may be even more powerful than we thought.

We often would rather be looking for something than doing something. As many New Years resolutions fade, many are looking for something new and need reminding that there is no magic involved to achieve health and fitness success.
Looking keeps us busy, but delivers no results. By doing and doing consistently we have the power to change. So if you think you need to be looking for something else, because "this clean eating & LAB5 exercising is not enough", then try bucking this natural human tendency by not looking for something else... instead just DO it.
Pick your LAB5 classes in advance and stick to it!! Summer is around the corner and you want to look your best. LAB5 is always here to help you get the results you deserve and want!
Think of your future. What do you want to feel like and look like? Who do you CHOOSE to be?
