Greetings Everyone!
Faith in Action's first fall outreach is this weekend! Join us Saturday, October 20, from 8:00am-12:00pm. Our main objective this month is to revitalize the Tillicum neighborhood of Lakewood in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and funded by Thrivent Repairs. If we have enough help, there are several other projects lined up this month. This newsletter will provide you with project descriptions as well as important links that will get you connected.
Please remember to let Jeff Pielak know BEFORE Saturday if he can count you in. It is VERY HELPFUL for volunteers to RSVP. Knowing our numbers helps us to plan projects, line up materials, and prepare lunch.
First time volunteers, in addition to your RSVP, please submit a VOLUNTEER SURVEY. |

Neighborhood Revitalization
Painting Project in Lakewood
The word is out that Our Savior Lutheran serves through Faith in Action. Habitat for Humanity has once again asked for our help. Habitat has partnered with Thrivent to revitalize the Tillicum neighborhood in Lakewood, and at least 10 painters are needed THIS WEEKEND. If you've been meaning to get involved with Faith in Action, but haven't had the chance, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Email Jeff Pielak today and let him know to count you in. |

Car Shop
Basic Car Repairs
Don Grover and Fred Greer will be up to their usual business this Saturday. If you can help with oil changes, diagnostics, and minor repairs, email Don. No experience necessary. Our certified mechanics will teach the skills needed to get the job done.
Email Don Grover if you can help. |

Fall Harvest is Here
Join us in the Garden on Saturday
Join the Wanna Be Green Thumbs as they bring in the final harvest for the OSLC food bank. Veteran gardeners and novices alike are welcome and needed. Email Margie Heinz and let her know you will be there!
The Abundance Garden is a seasonal ministry of OSLC, but Wanna Be Green Thumbs meet year round every third Tuesday of the month. |

More Requests from the Community
Lots to Do
Our main goal this month is to paint a home in Lakewood, but if we get enough hands on deck, we have several other requests for help. We've been asked to pressure wash a nearby home, to install safety rails for a senior, and fix floors for another friend of OSLC. Help us say, "YES," to these requests and more.
Jeff is waiting to hear from you. |

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor 15:58 |
