GET YOUR WALKING SHOES ON: WALK-A-THON NOTES
Dear Luers Parents and Guardians:

Our annual BLHS Student Walk-A-Thon is this Friday, Sept. 30. We are busy with preparations to make this a grand day for our students and staff. A few important things to note:

* The Walk-A-Thon will take place rain or shine! Please make sure your student is dressed for the weather and wears comfortable shoes.
* When students are done walking, they are free to go home! This is basically a half day of school, and most students are done by noon. There is an optional free lunch provided in the cafeteria.
* All students are required to raise $75, and all students are required to walk on Friday, whether money is turned in or not.
* There is a Prayer Service scheduled this year before the Walk begins at approximately 8:15 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Our goal this year is $47,000. So far only a little over $21,500 has been turned in. Please encourage your students to collect their money and have it turned in by Friday. Also we have 50 missing permission slips that need to be turned in. Every student that was missing a Walk-A-Thon permission slips was sent home with one to be signed last week. Please ask your student if they received one. If the permission slip is not signed and turned in, your student will not be able to participate in the Walk and will remain in school for the full day and report to Mr. Marsh for the day.

Homemade cookies are also needed for the student lunch after the Walk. If you can, please send in two to three dozen cookies individually wrapped Thursday or Friday. The students love the sweet goodies!

Volunteers are still needed to work a checkpoint Friday morning. If you are available, please email Christine Fabina, [email protected] or call at 260-456-1261, Ext. 3342.

Walk-A-Thon is an exciting tradition here at Bishop Luers and fun for both our students and our parents. Come join in the fun!
