Long-Term Closure of DNT Southbound Entrance Ramp from Trinity Mills Road Begins April 2
Crews will Rebuild Ramp to Accommodate DNT Fourth Lane
During the early morning hours of Saturday, April 2, the southbound entrance ramp at Trinity Mills Road will be closed to traffic-long term for six months. During that time, construction crews will demolish and rebuild a portion of the wall and ramp to make room for a fourth lane in the area.
NOTE: In the event of expected inclement weather this week, the closure could be delayed. If crews are not able to conduct this work on Friday night and Saturday morning, the work will be delayed until Monday, April 4, and the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 5.
To minimize impacts to drivers during peak usage times, construction on DNT will primarily occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Safety is of importance to NTTA, and drivers should be aware that the current 60 mph enforced, speed limit on the Tollway between the SRT and the Bush Turnpike has been extended south to Frankford Road. Also, the speed limit southbound between Frankford and Belt Line Roads is now 55 mph.
Speed limit reductions will initially be in place for those traveling southbound during construction. As construction crews move to the northbound portion of DNT between Belt Line Road and President George Bush Turnpike, the speed limits also will be reduced in those areas. These enforceable speed limits are in place for the duration of construction.
