Chisholm Trail Parkway ramp to I-30 opens
Improvement work along I-30 continues near downtown Fort Worth
Drivers on the NTTA's Chisholm Trail Parkway received a Halloween treat as crews opened a new direct-connector ramp from westbound Interstate 30 to southbound CTP during the early morning hours Oct. 31.
Meanwhile, crews working just west of downtown Fort Worth are continuing their efforts on sections of the road:
● A new westbound I-30 entrance ramp west of Summit Avenue
● A new loop ramp from eastbound I-30 to northbound Forest Park Boulevard
● A new westbound I-30 frontage road entrance ramp to southbound CTP
● Reconstruction of a westbound I-30 entrance ramp from Forest Park Boulevard and along Parkview Drive
● Final paving and street improvements along University Drive
NTTA is cooperating with the City of Fort Worth and the Texas Department of Transportation on these construction activities, some of which will continue into 2015, including landscaping.
All main lanes of the 27.6-mile toll road opened to traffic May 11. The roadway provides a continuous route for motorists traveling from the downtown Fort Worth business district west and south to Cleburne in Johnson County. The phased opening of the corridor provides increased mobility and safety for area motorists.
NTTA's first roadway in Tarrant and Johnson counties, the CTP alleviates congestion on I-35W, State Highway 174, FM 1187, Bryant Irvin Road, Hulen Street and other roadways.
The $1.4 billion CTP project is one more cornerstone representing the region's commitment to cooperative partnerships. Project partners for this collaborative effort are TxDOT, the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Johnson and Tarrant counties, the cities of Burleson, Cleburne and Fort Worth, Union Pacific Railroad and Fort Worth and Western Railroad.
