Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in spring 2014.

Community meetings in Johnson County scheduled for Dec. 4 and 5

As Chisholm Trail Parkway moves closer to opening in spring 2014, the NTTA and the construction team will offer a final round of construction updates for Johnson County residents in December. Community meetings will be held Dec. 4 at the Cleburne Conference Center (1501 W. Henderson St.) in Cleburne and Dec. 5 at the Loflin Middle School (6801 FM 1902) in Joshua. These meetings will be hosted in an open house format from 5:30-7 p.m. with a brief presentation beginning at 6 p.m. each evening.

The meetings will offer attendees an opportunity to see aerial photography of the construction progress and hear about what to expect in the coming months. NTTA staff and construction team managers will be on hand to answer questions. In addition to the project updates, attendees can learn about the benefits of using TollTags and set up TollTag accounts at each of the meetings.

Downtown Fort Worth area business meeting scheduled for Dec. 9

A briefing on the latest CTP construction activities in the Interstate 30/downtown Fort Worth area will be held on Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Camellia Room at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden Center, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd. Known as Business Information Group or B.I.G. meetings, the briefing gives business owners and their staff members an opportunity to ask questions and to receive updates on CTP construction. To learn more about B.I.G. meetings, please contact us at [email protected] or by calling (817) 916-5105.
