Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in spring 2014.

Traffic Advisory: Upcoming I-20 area closures
Construction crews working on the North Texas Tollway Authority's Chisholm Trail Parkway in Fort Worth will periodically close Interstate 20 between Bryant Irvin Road and Hulen Street overnight beginning in mid-September and ending spring 2014.
Starting Sept. 17, the eastbound Hulen Street exit and approaching right lane of I-20 will be closed for several weeks. Motorists can exit Bryant Irvin Road and take the frontage road to Hulen Street.
I-20 between Bryant Irvin Road and Hulen Street will close overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. periodically from Sept. 19 through spring 2014. Exact closure details and detour information will be announced prior to each overnight closure.
Signs will direct motorists around the roadway closures. The NTTA appreciates your patience throughout the construction process. |
FM 917 bridge in Johnson County nearing completion
Crews worked all summer on the FM 917 bridge in Johnson County that will travel over the future CTP.
Shifting traffic slightly to the north allowed for excavation and bridge construction work to continue with no interruption of service or detours for existing FM 917 travel. With the placement of columns and the setting of beams, the final form of the bridge is taking shape.
The bridge should be completed this fall, and traffic will move back to the original footprint of FM 917 to use the new bridge. Motorists will travel over the CTP before the project is complete, allowing local residents to have a front row seat to the final stages of the construction progress.
