Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in spring 2014.

Traveling display reaches audiences

CTP dislplay

The CTP exhibit continues to educate others about the toll road as it moves to locations throughout Tarrant and Johnson counties. The exhibit features a project area map, TollTag information and other interesting facts about the corridor. The exhibit is currently on display at the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibit Hall in the Will Rogers Memorial Center, 3401 W. Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth.

Hulen Street bridge motif

At the Hulen Street bridge, workers are installing the new rails/fencing which was conceptualized in 2005 by Fort Worth residents participating in a Citizen Advisory Group. The group asked for an art deco motif inspired by the Zig Zag Moderne pattern on top of the T & P Building and the Lancaster bridge downtown.

Road Work Ahead SignConstruction update: Bryant Irvin Ramp closed

The westbound Interstate 20 exit ramp to Bryant Irvin Road in south Fort Worth will be closed from 8 p.m. May 20 until 5 a.m. May 21. During the closure, motorists will be directed to take westbound State Highway 183 to Bryant Irvin Road or continue on I-20, exit Winscott Road and make a U-turn to Bryant Irvin Road.

B.I.G. meeting

A Business Information Group meeting was held May 20 for the downtown/I-30 area business owners and managers. Representatives from the NTTA, Texas Department of Transportation and City of Fort Worth were on hand to discuss project updates for the CTP, 7th Street bridge and various City of Fort Worth projects.
