Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in spring 2014.

Road Work Ahead SignConstruction updates

Five lanes now open on Hulen Street bridge

A third northbound lane and a second southbound lane opened on the Hulen Street bridge in Fort Worth last week, providing motorists with five total traffic lanes. The lanes were opened March 27, after crews completed median work along the new bridge.

In the next few weeks, the northbound lanes will be reduced to two lanes temporarily so crews can install fencing. By the end of summer, the entire bridge will open, giving motorists six traffic lanes, three in each direction and pedestrians a 10-foot sidewalk on the northbound side of the bridge.

Work continues at I-20/SH 183 interchange in south Fort Worth

At the Interstate 20/State Highway 183/CTP interchange, crews are busy pouring columns and building bridge decks. The following closures are scheduled:

*April 3-18: The closure of the westbound I-20 exit ramp to Bryant Irvin Road

*April 3-Late June: Nightly closure of two eastbound I-20 lanes

Progress continues on Oakmont Boulevard bridge

The westbound bridge deck of the Oakmont Boulevard bridge over the CTP main lanes was constructed last week, completing the two parallel bridges. Crews continue working on approaches, railing and other final details as they complete the structures and prepare for an opening date late this spring.
