Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth's central business district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad's Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A consists of local access improvements to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construction of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipated to open to traffic in spring 2014.

First bridge beams set in Johnson County portion of CTP
The first CTP bridge beams in Johnson County were set on Dec. 11 at County Road 920. The concrete beams weigh approximately 32 tons each and are approximately 80 feet in length. They are lifted in place by crews operating two construction cranes. The bridge will have a total of 21 beams to complete the structure, three spans each containing seven beams. |
|
Crews put in approximately 150,000 hours of work time each month to build the 28-mile Chisholm Trail Parkway. |

Traffic switch to begin today for eastbound SH 183 traffic
Eastbound State Highway 183 traffic is scheduled to switch to a new one-lane configuration on Dec. 17. This switch, under the direction of the Texas Department of Transportation, will result in the temporary closure of the entrance ramp from Bryant Irvin Road to eastbound SH 183. Motorists will need to enter westbound SH 183 from Crosslands Road, while crews complete the new permanent entrance. |

Construction updates
Weekend closures of eastbound Vickery
Eastbound Vickery Boulevard between Rosedale and Smiley streets will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, through 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7. During the closure, crews will install a storm sewer line.
Eastbound motorists will have two detour options:
* North on Montgomery Street, east to the Interstate 30 frontage road, south on University Drive and then back to Vickery Boulevard
* North on Smiley Street, east to the I-30 frontage road, south on University Drive and then back to Vickery Boulevard |

A Zip-Pass account allows motorists to avoid fines, fees and opt-in costs charged by rental car companies, and it assures tolls are paid on time while driving a rental car or visiting Dallas/Fort Worth in a personal vehicle.
Visitors can open a Zip-Pass account for $5 per day with a $20 minimum balance to cover their tolls. To open a Zip-Pass account, customers can call the NTTA Customer Service at (972) 818-NTTA (6882).
