My Favorite Spring Trends

Oh I am SO over this cold, the snow, nightfall coming so early! But when I walk into the mall and see that spring capsules have arrived, perched in store windows and mannequins, it makes me forget all of that! While the fashions have arrived before the warmer weather has, that is no reason to hold back on all of the amazing new trends!

Spring 2013 is bringing us all an amazing spectrum of colors and I plan on dipping into both ends- including pastels and neons! Both of these color families can be worn:

-head to toe (think mint green sundress), mixed to color block (think neon pink top, royal blue skirt and neon yellow pumps!)

-paired with neutrals (how crisp is a neon hue paired with white or a pastel matched with beige?!)

-Afraid to go all out neon? Try a neon belt or handbag to make your outfit pop and rock the trend in your own way.

I am also drooling over the season's geometric shapes and play on bold stripes. The totally trendy black and white color palette makes playing with prints super simple yet super chic. And I am always a sucker for pattern mixing. Spring's fun patterns allow for just that!

*Tricia's tip: one of the biggest keys to pulling off a pattern mixed looks is to ensure there is at least one color repeated in both patterns.

Another trend I am ecstatic is sticking around? Leather! Like I always say, everyone should have a good leather jacket in their wardrobe. Well this spring is yet another good excuse to wear it! Toughen up a flirty dress by topping it off with a leather, or add a soft leather jacket to dress pants to update your look for the office.

I am also obsessing over anything laser cut- jackets, purses, shoes, wallets, belts, etc!

And now lets talk peplum! Peplum shapes on a top, skirt or a dress can be super figure flattering. Many women think they cant pull off this trend because of their bodytype but trust me you can! It is all about finding the right shape, length and cut for you!

The Launch of Speed Styling

My new monthly event kicks off this month at Quincy's newest hot spot, Assembly. I am so excited for you all to experience it!

Set up like Speed Dating, but designed so that you leave with a LOOK you love...(snagging the date if you choose is all you, but should be no problem with your new look customized at Speed Styling!)

This event is designed for folks to consult with industry professionals to update their overall images. Attendees will have 10 minutes each to consult with myself on wardrobe, then a professional hair stylist and a talented makeup artist. Any and all fashion questions you have will be answered all in one place and you will learn amazing tips and tricks!

For wardrobe:

If you haven't worked with me yet but have been considering it this is a great opportunity to sit down and chat with me about your personal style and come up with solutions to your problems. Unsure of what to wear to an upcoming wedding or graduation? Where to shop for it? How to dress to minimize your mid section...or show it off?! NOW is your chance to ask it all! Recently purchase an item but your not sure if it looks good on you or what to wear with it? Feel free to bring it with you or snap a pic of it with your phone to show me!

For hair:

Wondering how to get those beachy waves all the celebs are rocking now? What product to use on your hair to protect it from the heat of your daily blow dryer and curling iron? Is your hair even healthy? Whats a quick and easy up do for this season's upcoming weddings and events?? Ask our professional hairstylist!

Make up:

I know I cant be the only person wondering how to master the smokey eye! Or what moisturizer to use for oily or dry skin? Don't have much time everyday for makeup application? A professional makeup artist will teach you how to do a quick and easy 5 minute face...(which you will then proudly sport your new makeup makeover over to our photographer for a pic then to the bar for some socializing!)
