Ways To Organize Your Closet |
|
How do you organize your wardrobe?
Do you think that organization determines what you wear everyday?
It does! If you cant clearly see, or even find, your items then chances are you will overlook them or even forget about them. This can have a domino effect on other potential outfits you could be putting together and you are missing out more than you realize. It can also get you stuck in the habit of wearing the same items and outfit combinations over and over again...because as soon as you open your closet they are right there so you grab them and go! Think of your closet like a store and utilize some retail merchandising skills!
Here are some ways I suggest organizing your closet: By Classification- this means hanging all tops together, pants together, skirts together, dresses together, etc. I even suggest digging further in to separating according to sleeve styles (tank tops-short sleeves- long sleeves) and hem lengths (shorts- capris, long pants) By Season- Some folks put their seasonal clothing away for the off seasons, some keep all seasons together year long. It is sometimes helpful to separate, even within the same closet or separate closets if you have that option, but it is important to remember transitional pieces and layering pieces that can be repeated. (ie white linen pants can surely be put away for the winter but the turquoise tank top you wore with them can also be worn in colder weather layered under an open knit sweater) By Color- Okay I have to admit this is one of my pet peeves! When are you ever deciding what to wear and say "well today I'm going to that restaurant that only allows you to wear blue so I'll head over to my blue section"?! I understand color organizing looks appealing, but I find it is most functional when done as an additional step after sorting by classification. Fold vs Hang- I am personally a fan of hanging as much as possible so I can see everything (and have to iron nothing!) Dressier fabrics (like silk, leather or rayon) are better folded, especially if they have details. More casual fabrics (like jersey knit or denim) with less detail fold best. I recommend folding jeans, sweatshirts, sweaters (sometimes hanging heavy sweaters stretches them) and tee shirts. Another way to think of it- 9-5 or occasion items= hanging, weekend wear= folded. Client's Closet Organized by Tricia Also keep in mind... *uniform hangers (same shape, size, color) help make your closet appear neater and less cluttered *accessories, shoes, purses and scarves should be displayed in a way that allows you to see all of your options so you don't forget to utilize them Join us on Pinterest for fun organization ideas! |

What type of Stella & Dot party can you host?
* Gather friends, family and neighbors for a night of fun of fashion right in your own home
* Treat co-workers to a small set up in your office for some lunch break shopping
* promote your own business by having a trunk show in your boutique/studio/office. Treat your existing clients and bring in some new ones!
* Host the easiest party ever, a virtual party. Promote your special online shopping link to your friends and network through email and social media. They order what they want in my e-boutique under your name, their goodies ship directly to them and you earn all the same hostess benefits!
What are the benefits of booking a party with Tricia?
Because this is not your average direct sales party where everyone sits around listening to me sell products and then buy things they don't really need! This is a pressure free, fashion filled party! I will show everyone how to wear the jewelry and accessorize in general, along with giving a fashion presentation complete with trendy pieces, mannequins and even live models! We will have an open forum of all things fashion and you will leave educated and inspired to re-evaluate your current wardrobe...and if you found some jewelry that you cant live without along the way, thats an additional bonus!
