It is hard to believe that November is here and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. During this season of gratitude and celebration, we at MAP - THANK YOU!
 
We are so grateful for your passion, kindness and 
continued support of MAP and our children.

Each year we come together at MAP's Annual Gala in San Francisco to celebrate the lives of our children and our ever growing community. We are so pleased to report that MAP's 8th Annual Dinner Dance and Auction Fundraiser in San Francisco was a great success with attendance of over 1300 guests. Thanks to your support, our volunteers and the generosity of our sponsors and contributors, we grossed over $500,000.
 
Your support helps nourish and empower thousands of impoverished children. Our Holiday Helping Hand Project is on its way. We will be packaging food for thousands of impoverished children in Loudoun County, Virginia on November 22nd at Dominion High School thanks to Generosity Feeds. If you would like to participate please

Our Holiday Toy Drive in partnership with the City of Burlingame, and the Central County Fire Department is scheduled for Dec. 13th. Drop off your donations or join us for gift wrapping at the Burlingame Park & Recreation Center from noon-4pm. For more details please  click here. 
 
16 million children in America face hunger. (feedamerica.org) Since 2010 MAP has been combating food insecurity through its Nutrition Outreach Program. We pleased to report that we are currently expanding this program into the Oakland and Cabrillo school district in California.

MAP in Senegal
We are so happy to report that the construction of our new school in Mbour, Senegal is completed with the help of Natangu� S�n�gal. 
MAP in Cambodia
The children at HOPE are thriving and enjoy being part of the expansion of our education outreach program. This program now serves 150 children with various after school curriculum. The program has been so successful that MAP is planning to expand it further. We are launching a campaign to purchase a school bus allowing us to offer this program to impoverished children living farther away. The roads are unsafe in this area and often flood during the rainy season. Creating a bus service is an imperative to providing these educational services safely to many more needy children. MAP in Iran
We are excited to report that we have over 40 Sponsors for the Mahd Roosta Preschool/Day Care Initiative in Iran. We are so grateful to these sponsors for giving the gift of early education to the children of Iran. 

MAP is proud to offer 100 Mahd Roosta sponsorship opportunities to our donor community, with each Center named in the sponsor's honor or another designated name. The impoverished remote village communities are identified and selected based on their critical need of day care facilities to offer safe educational space for the children in preparation for elementary school. The centers also benefit the mothers of the community in allowing them to work while knowing their children are learning in a loving environment. Three of the Mahd Roostas have been completed and construction of the others will begin shortly. 

In addition, we are pleased to report that:
  • The construction of our three new schools in Azarbaijan, Sistan & Blouchestan and Kurdistan are almost completed;  
  • We have built and furnished a therapy room and library, as well as renovated the kitchen at Ghiasvand Boys Orphanage;
  • We have renovated and purchased equipment for Shahid Torkamani Orphanage;
  • We continue developing our vocational and therapy center for orphaned and special needs children in Kerman;
  • We continued providing monthly health insurance for kids in Kerman; and
  • We continue providing therapy for special needs children at Farkhondeh Center.
MAP in India
The children are thriving at our 5 learning centers and the education programs have been so successful that we are planning to expand our reach to many more impoverished children in the area.

Moms Against Poverty is a volunteer based non-profit organization dedicated to serving and supporting children living in poverty in the US and around the world. Our vision is to nurture and educate these children to their fullest potential so that one day they can contribute and lead within their own communities; thus breaking the cycle of poverty.  We carry out this mission by developing and renovating schools and orphanages, providing education, health care and basic needs to these children one community at a time.
