Bend the Arc is hiring a community organizer in Los Angeles!

General Statement of Duties

Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice is seeking an experienced Community Organizer for the Los Angeles area. The Community Organizer organizes volunteer activists to participate in campaigns, develop partnerships and campaign strategy, support the development of leaders, and build public support for campaigns in the Jewish community -- all in the context of building a vibrant Jewish social justice movement. The Community Organizer cultivates grassroots engagement and leadership, educates Jewish community about local and national social justice struggles and campaigns, trains volunteers in organizing skills, and builds Bend the Arc's profile as a valuable and accountable community partner.  The Community Organizer builds and maintains collaborative relationships with both Jewish communal partners and regional partners, including social justice organizations, broad-based and issue-oriented organizing communities, and labor allies.

Bend the Arc seeks a community organizer who is experienced, strategic, solution-oriented, and collaborative; excels at building relationships within and outside the Jewish community; and is motivated to further Bend the Arc's mission, vision and values. This person will team with the coordinator of our cohort-based leadership development program for young changemakers, while maintaining primary focus on organizing. S/he will also collaborate with organizing staff at partner organizations in other cities, and will often supervise interns.
