A New Session of Yiddish Classes Starting Soon
Join Yiddishkayt's Mindl Cohen to learn the secret language of your heart. Two classes in two parts of town are starting on April 15.
Beginning Yiddish is perfect for newcomers and those who know only a few words and phrases. It will be taught on Mondays & Wednesdays at Yiddishkayt's HQ in Koreatown. Or enroll in Continuing Yiddish -- suitable if you know the alphabet, have some knowledge of the language, or if you knew Yiddish once but have forgotten. This class is offered on Tuesdays & Thursdays at the Arbeter Ring in Pico-Robertson.

The NWU Los Angeles Chapter is going on STRIKE! On Sunday, April 28th at 2 pm, the chapter will play the new board game for the 99%, created by Corey Lee Wilson, a member of our own NWU L.A. Chapter. Would you like to educate working-class families about labor/trade unions, promote union solidarity, and have fun doing it? Join us and STRIKE!

Secular Jewish conference in August - Save the Date

Kol Shalom, a Community for Humanistic Judaism, will be hosting the fifth annual J-West Conference, a West Coast gathering of cultural, humanist, and secular Jews. The conference in August will be a time to see old friends, make new ones, and build connections among individuals and communities. It is a forum for secular Jewish organizations to come together and share resources, ideas, and inspiration for sustaining and promoting Jewish culture and history. The gathering will include activities for teens and young adults.

Every Monday at 2 pm Thanks to your attendance, her Conversational Yiddish group is thriving with world-recognized Yiddish teacher, scholar, translator and raconteuse Hadasa Cytrynowicz. Originally from Lodz, and later a long-time resident of Brazil, Hadasa brings a wealth of experience and stories, songs, proverbs and sayings, poetry and interesting topics for discussion to her group. Each session is an hour and 15 minutes. Admission is by voluntary donation.
