David Swanson, author of War is a Lie, is an American author, blogger and anti-war activist. He served as press secretary for Ohio congressman Dennis Kucinich's 2004 presidential campaign, and was a key figure in making the Downing Street Memo known across America. The memo, the leaked minutes of a meeting of the British war cabinet, exposed the lies behind the war in Iraq and was a key element in turning the majority of American people against the war in Iraq.

"EARLY PLEASURES" BY FREDERICK KOHNER, AUTHOR OF "GIDGET"
AT VILLAGE BOOKSTORE, 1049 SWARTHMORE AVENUE
PACIFIC PALISADES, CA 90272:
Early Pleasures is a fictionalization of Frederick Kohner's adolescent sexual discoveries in a small spa town in Czechoslovakia, then in Vienna, and finally in Paris in the years following World War I.
His daughter, Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, was the real-life model for Kohner's
"Gidget," a fictionalization of her adolescent yearnings for boys and surfing.
Posthumously published by Black Heron Press, "Early Pleasures" is Kohner's
fictionalization of his own coming of age.
His daughter, the real-life Gidget, has written an Afterword for the novel and will help celebrate the appearance of her Dad's wonderful, new book.
