Council for Quality Growth Leads Development Tour in Marietta

On Wednesday, April 1, the Council for Quality Growth led a development tour with members of the Marietta City Council, along with Director of Development Services Brian Binzer, Fire Chief Jackie Gibbs,  Council for Quality Growth Member Brock Built Homes (Steve and Adam Brock), John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods (Mike Meshkaty and Bryan Musolf) and Architect Bill Tunnell of TSW.  The group toured single-family developments in downtown Woodstock, Vinings and Dupont Circle in Atlanta.  The tour was proposed based on  proposed changes to the zoning code that had been introduced in November 2014 regarding the parking ordinances and the Council for Quality Growth's concerns.  The Council, at the Planning Commission Meeting in November, offered to facilitate with the City Council Members and Staff, along with our membership, a tour of  various developments where the parking ordinances allowed flexibility in design and were working for the community and those developing and designing the various products.

Click HERE to view the proposed zoning ordinance change from the City and Click HERE for a map of the developments toured.  We would like to thank the City of Marietta Council Members, City Staff and Council for Quality Growth Members for their participation and engaging dialogue on the proposed zoning ordinance.  We look forward to working with City as the ordinance moves through the process.
