How is BJE Engaging Teens with Community Service this Summer?

BJE Impact: Teen Service Corps and Epic Israel

This summer, BJE is engaging teens in community service and Jewish service learning through BJE Impact: Teen Service and Epic Israel.

Pictured above are teens from the first session of BJE's Teen Service Corps, a one week summer day camp hosted by Sinai Temple.  Participants earned 12 hours of community service volunteering with organizations that relate to the environment.  A second session of BJE Teen Service Corps, hosted by Valley Beth Shalom has sold out and will run from July 27-31.  Check out Instagram for more pictures of campers volunteering with BJE Teen Service Corps.

Pictured below are teen participants of Epic Israel, a 24 day summer program operated by BJE in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles and the Jewish Agency.  Participants of Epic Israel were eligible to earn 30 hours of community service.  Additionally, over the course of the trip, participants explored historical sites and places of contemporary interest throughout the country.  For a full account of participants' travels and more pictures from Epic Israel, please click here.
