Human Resources is a highly specialized field, and many schools cannot afford to hire an in-house HR director. BJE, as part of its commitment to nurturing excellence in education and school operations, identified and contracted with a human resources consulting firm, MetaForce, to help schools with "best practice" in human resources procedures. BJE's HR consortium provides institutions with two training sessions each year, quarterly newsletters, and 10 hours of human resources support.
This week, over 30 professionals from BJE-affiliated institutions attended a four hour training on Writing & Delivering Effective Performance Evaluations. Participants, including general and Judaic studies principals, early childhood directors, human resources directors, rabbis, executive directors of synagogues, and heads of school, were introduced to best practices in performance evaluations. Through improved evaluation systems, teachers can enhance their job performance to more effectively educate students.
"[BJE professional development workshops] energize me and give me new ideas to take back to my community and congregation and help inspire my teachers and future educators," said Susan Levin, Director of Temple Beth Hillel Religious School.
