Map Collage Powder Room ~
project of the month

With the kitchen renovation (May's featured project of the month) already underway, my client asked about the possibility of adding a half bath to the first floor. By using a wall mounted toilet, we were able to legally squeeze a powder room into an existing 14 square foot utility closet without sacrificing one bit on style, wit or whimsy. Clever map mash-ups included. Come on in, but one at a time please!

Inspiration ~
I am so inspired by people who see a problem and devise a solution that makes the world, or at least their corner of it, a better place. John Kellett saw trash floating in Baltimore's Inner Harbor and designed a water wheel that has picked up 40 tons of trash since May (last month!). Genius!

GREEN your Red, White & Blue
This July 4th (and really every holiday and when you're entertaining) plan to reduce your waste.
Name your cup to keep track of it!
  • Make it easy for your guests to keep track of their drink.  Provide a sharpie for everyone to "name" their cup.  I've been doing this for years (and reusing that same sign).
  • Provide clearly marked recycling containers for bottles and plastic.
  • Consider reusable tableware or buy recycled content and recyclable or compostable products.

Let your mantra be Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!

I help smart homeowners upgrade to stylish, functional healthy interiors, kitchens and baths.  What's on your wish list?
