Another NYBC Wrap
New York Blood Center has been a client of TimeSteps since 2001. For their upcoming 50th Anniversary, TimeSteps was asked to produce a historical retrospective and two corporate image videos to premiere at their Anniversary Gala in November, plus a series of Digital Toolkit videos to aid them in their blood donor recruiting efforts.
The TimeSteps crew under the direction of Marilyn Petrokubi shot a total of 8 days to get b-roll coverage and interviews. D.P. Claudia Raschke-Robinson worked her magic with the Canon C300 HD camera, and editor, David Bruce (not pictured) is now plowing through the footage. Stay tuned to see the results!

TimeSteps Recommends
Once in a while a new service comes to our attention that blows us away with its ease of use and service, without straining our pocketbook. Voices.com is a professional voice over narration service that every producer (and voice over talent) should know about. It's an online service that brings together over 100,000 talented narrators in one convenient online location.
Who has time to wade through 100,000 demos? No one. So we took a shortcut and did a search on the top 100 Top Favorites. After listening to the first twenty male voices, we easily found three names who would do a great job. We contacted our account rep (a real person with a genuine desire help) and within a day she sent three scratch track demos of a few pages of our script.
After we reviewed these, she then followed up with 10 more readings by other voiceover narrators she thought might fit the bill and who would also work within our budget range. Now that's service!
We forwarded the top six choices to our client who chose the "winner," and a day later we were recording the whole script through a live phone patch during which the talent took direction and did multiple takes as necessary.
Now Voices.com is not a new service. It's been around since 2004. We're just a slow adapters in this case. But now that we've tried it, I'm sure we'll give it another shot. It's a service that more than exceeded our expectations.
