An Interview with Coach Pat
Pat Rogers has 42 years at YTC under his belt. Get to know him a little better:
How did you end up at YTC? I started when it first opened. I was teaching high school Spanish and tennis afterwards.
What is your favorite thing about teaching tennis? The answer is simple -- giving people a skill that will change their lives.
Have you found that over the years you've greatly adapted your style of teaching? Oh, absolutely. Tennis has changed dramatically, so the way we teach right now is not even close to what we started off with. It's wonderful.
Who is your favorite tennis player of all time? James Scott Connors -- he wasn't your stereotypical country clubber. He brought the "working man's" frame of mind to the game.
What is one thing our customers might be surprised to learn about you? I'm parrothead [a huge Jimmy Buffet fan] and I love to ride the waves. Surf's up!
What is the #1 thing on your bucket list? The first thing that comes to mind is to maintain good health. Without that, I can't accomplish anything else. I run, I surf, I eat healthy -- I do whatever I can to keep in shape!

More Than Just Tennis
Youngsters Benefit from the Game
USTA Serves conducted a study on the educational and health profiles of adolescent tennis participants, and their
findings speak volumes. Of youth who play tennis:
48% have an "A" average 81% say they will attend college 73% have never been sent to the principal's office 82% volunteer in their communities
This study helps prove that tennis participation has some valuable benefits outside of a perfect forehand.
Take advantage of the benefits of tennis and register your child for Junior Summer Camp. Get a 5% sibling or multi-week discount!
