WEST COAST OPEN FOR BUSINESS
For the last 7 months the Pacific Maritime Association and the ILWU have been involved in negotiations on a new labor agreement. In the course of that time there has been a tremendous backlog and congestion at all West Coast ports. It all came to a head when the ports closed for 4 days in mid-February. Prompted by federal government officials, a deal was finally struck.
The last 7 months have presented us many challenges on how to continue to serve our clients in a transparent manner with regards to the labor issues at the ports. If you did not notice a disruption in service in the last 7 months then we did our job.
Although there is still congestion to clean up (and it may take several more weeks), we are back to normal with our West Coast operations. Please consider us if you are looking for pricing for West Coast shipments.
Thanks again for your patience and support during the entire process!
