You can manage your password at any time. Head to password.uwp.edu to manage your account. If your password expires and you aren't on campus, you won't be able to reset it unless you have set your security questions. Answer the password security questions in the Self Service area to ensure your account is secure. When you set your security questions, you assure that even if you forget your password or need to change it, you can still retrieve your information.

Kaltura MediaSpace is a media destination site similar to Youtube that allows its users to upload audio and video files to their site. It's integrated with D2L, which means you can upload MediaSpace files to D2L, or record on D2L and have the recordings immediately uploaded onto MediaSpace. Users can create playlists, embed videos, and choose custom player skins to decorate their files with. You can do a screen recording, webcam recording, or upload files right from your D2L course. Available to both faculty and students, MediaSpace makes it easy to record and share multimedia files. 

 

Coming Summer 2015.

The Learning Technology Center hosts monthly sessions that bring together technology and education. Last month's session went over the new technology tools that UW-Parkside has to offer. KnowledgeBase, Lynda.com, and Microsoft Office 365 were discussed. To the right, you'll see CTS Client Services Manager Cindy Sobczak presenting Parkside's new KnowledgeBase. 

This month's Technology Tapas is about library and other academic support resources for students. The session will go over UW System Digital Collections, Tutoring and Academic Support, and Online Multimedia Resources. 

Remember that there are many new resources available for students, faculty, and staff to utilize this semester. The Parkside KnowledgeBase has tons of documents and videos to answer any questions you might have about D2L, Admissions, and more. We've also recently purchased a subscription to lynda.com. Make sure you visit the website and see what Lynda is all about. Don't forget to remind students that they have access to Microsoft Office 365 for free using their student account. With Office 365 they'll have online versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They'll also have one terabyte of storage on OneDrive.
