Dear Friends,

Is there anything more glorious than San Diego skies of blue and stacks of clouds after one of our rain storms?  The last two days have been so beautiful, the air so clean and the plants so happy. We think we received almost a half an inch and we're so grateful.

Fall fruits are coming in and we're introducing some new varieties.  We welcome all feedback.  And speaking of such, several of you let us know that you did indeed like the Portobello mushrooms, as long as it wasn't too often, and the small amounts of dates were liked too.  We had a couple of people let us know that we sent too many 'greens' last week and I'm pretty sure it was because the bunches of arugula were large and they didn't want to 'waste' any and can certainly understand that.  But when a crop wants to grow, by George it does and the arugula bed was so happy it grew like mad.  So hopefully you were able to use (salads, sandwiches, tacos or lightly steamed) and if you didn't, don't feel guilty.  It happens to all once in awhile.

We are now extending our service to San Diego military families partnering with San Diego Military Outreach Ministries (SDMOM's) and delivering to families that really appreciate fresh produce.  So many of them rely on food banks to supplement their food budgets, and that is good it's available, but they need fruits and vegetables as well.  We have the 'holidays' approaching and many of you will be leaving town so please consider donating your deliveries to them and that will help the farm get through the season too.
