Dear Friends,
Well, we made it through the last heat spell although with the high temperatures pulling the moisture from the plants and soil, had to increase our water use. If it's not one thing it's another. Still, the pleasure of seeing your freshly harvested food being washed and bundled on it's way to the walk-in cooler, gives up pleasure and pride.
We had to cancel last Saturday's Farm Stand. It was just too hot to ask the crew to harvest Friday afternoon in the heat after a grueling work week. We should be back on schedule for the 18th. Here's a short video that Kate Glenn did for us that you might enjoy.
