Dear Friends,
This summer's bounty of crops has been one of the best seasons for a while. Cantaloupe, corn, berries, tomatoes, to name a few have been so good and thank you to those that dropped up a note saying how much they've enjoyed everything. We especially like the note from the fairly new CSA shareholder that said in the beginning deliveries, she didn't think she could eat all the 'green' things but did the best she could. She writes that after the 3rd delivery, she found herself impatient for the delivery to come so she could make herself and her family a huge salad for dinner! And she's lost 5 pounds already just from changing her diet. That's what I call success!
Another big Thank You to the women that came to the Farm Market this last Saturday and volunteered to pull weeds. You made a big contribution.

If you're unsure of what to do with eggplant, this one is delicious and quick with 'store' marinara sauce:
Also, the ducks are laying eggs again and we have a few dozen on the Green Store to be added to your delivery. If you've been curious about trying them, the nutritional benefits are outstanding..even better than chicken eggs. They're a little pricey but it's because they don't necessarily lay every day and their maintenance is high (lots of water and secure night time housing).
