Can We Agree?
Can we agree on what we want from our food? And, from our farms? Here's what Seabreeze Organic Farm thinks: * To taste good - to have flavor * To be fresh and nutrient dense * To be grown without chemicals, genetically modified seeds and petroleum products * To be grown locally * To pay fair wages to all workers * To be grown with the seasons * To preserve heirloom varieties and their seeds * To be grown on a farm that preserves and enhances the environment. To enhance diversity. * To be a place of sanctuary and exemplary care of farm animals * To provide a local place to visit, learn and wonder * To provide a decent living to the farmer * To protect and provide these farms for future generations If we do agree on these issues, then it's up to the community to keep our farms going. And that means you and your neighbors. As individuals. You can research the farm closest to you. Not just the farmer's markets. It's not about food carts. It's about who is still left close to where you live, coaxing life giving plants out of the soil. Seek them out. Join their CSA. Buy their products. Volunteer. You'll directly have the benefits. And so will your family. Help your farmer in any way you can. There are no farms without the FARMER.
LIMITED TIME OFFER! Fresh line caught Salmon is in the Green Store now! Get some of the highest quality Salmon brought in from Alaska for you. Line caught using traditional sustainable methods is the very best available.
