Making it through last week's heat and fires....
After fighting off the elements last week I can only say 'Thank You' for your continued support of our CSA! You all have 'skin in the game' and we were working round the clock fighting the effects of high winds and scorching heat...we made it through thanks to the crew in the fields and you!
I hope all of you are safe and back in your homes this morning. The Firestorm is behind us today but we continue on high alert. Let's talk about the bright things in your CSA this week....

Beautiful Apricots~ Did you know these orange gems are nutritional superstars in the world of antioxidants? You will love them even more! Apricots are rich in many plant antioxidants. Some of the antioxidants found in Apricots are more difficult to obtain from other foods, and may be responsible for specific health benefits such as an anti-inflammatory. The health focus on inflammatory causing foods is all over the news.Consider the Apricot to be a great food that provides you with the protective effects of antioxidants while adding very few calories to your daily total. After the week we've had of extreme heat and fire storms, you may think (and you would be right) that the local Grocery store wouldn't notice if you don't come by. But the Farmer knows when you aren't here, in a very real and personal way we feel the pinch of your absence. We love sharing the Farm and it's bounty with you! It's you who keeps us growing through the good times and the rough times.... for we are partners for this farm.
You finance the growth on the farm and receive a share, sans the Middle Man of the Grocery Store. Many folks mistakenly think of the Farm as a Grocery Store Alternative ..... Please consider your contribution through our eyes...Let it be known we see you as our Partner, and not a Shopper in Aisle 9...your membership keeps us alive! Your participation means much more than a Grocery Store Alternative.
For us, and your neighbors your membership is a declaration in your food freedom and access to local food and for that we welcome your partnership!
So if a time comes along that you must skip now and then please consider donating that share to the Food Bank (we'll deliver it for you) as a Donation (tax write off) You see many fail to see our true worth and sustainability for Your Food choices. Local Fresh Food Access effects us all...You make it all happen and we can't do it without you! Thank you for all you do, we love growing for you!

We'll let you know if anything needs to be subbed out...the way of a farm is always what's here to share....some folks think of us as a grocery store...We are subject to what grows and what's there to share...CSA SHARE means that...your support of the farm helps us grow what you need for health and appropriate to the season(s).
