NEWS AROUND THE FARM STANDStaying ahead of the weeds and harvesting the Lettuce and Sweet Peas have kept us running this week. We are thankful for the rain and your Membership! Growing strong because of your partnership brings this bounty to your door and for that we thank you for all you do. Many ask how they can participate and love spending time on the farm with us. We will be having a gathering again in April for our Members to come out for a SPRING FLING.... SEABREEZE FARM AID is the next big thing on the Bluffs this Spring! If you'd like to support the farm in a bigger way, at a Planters level of Sustainable Gardening we are accepting gifts and donations! We are partners here and welcome you and your family to participate at various levels of contributions...Sharing our CSA with friends,family and work is the 1st level...Have you shared your CSA today?
 We still have Duck Eggs! This may be the last week so if you haven't tried them, here's a few bits of news that make them a great option. The season is short and they are delicious!Duck eggs are far superior to Chicken eggs with the same taste and richer smoother consistency yet better than a chicken egg in many ways:
- 1. Duck eggs have twice the nutritional value of a chicken egg and stay fresher longer due to their thicker shell.
- 2. Duck eggs are richer with more Albumen making cakes and pastries fluffier and richer.
- 3. Duck Eggs have more Omega 3 fatty acids ..something you can actually see in the salted pickled eggs the Chinese love to eat. Omega 3 is thought to improve everything from Brain health to healthy skin and
- 4. Duck Eggs are an Alkaline producing food, one of the few foods that leave your body more alkaline which is a great benefit to cancer patients as cancer cells do not thrive in an alkaline environment. Chicken eggs are an acid food leaving your body more acid.
You should see the the growing Beds! The rains and warm weather have pushed the lettuce to mature...expect 2 heads this week!
