Dear Friends,
As you may have read, we're having a get together at the farm Saturday for a 'class' on chickens although we're not really chicken farmers (we have about 70 of all ages and types). We people are their servants, along with the Corgi's, the ducks, the goats and the myriad of wild birds. And that's not mentioning the thousands of plants that every day join in the chorus of feed me, pet me, walk me, clean my house, water me, fertilize me, prune me, pull these weeds and 'do something' about these pesky bad bugs and critters that come in the night!
When guests first come and walk around, I often hear stories of grandparents and their gardens/farms or 'oh, this is exactly what I want to have/do'. It's easy to understand their reactions and we are proud of our farmette and all that we do here. But it doesn't really make for a 'normal' person in this day and age. Invitations, evening events, movies, restaurants, shopping..everyday activities for most people. But with this many lives that depend on us to care for them, it just isn't realistic. Good thing we love what we do.
So hope to see you Saturday. Weather should be lovely and we'll have a relaxing morning 'back in time' on the farm.
