Small, clean, diversified, essentially "neighborhood" farms are the proper solution to the food crises in America and elsewhere.  Such farms are good for people (they produce healthful food, guard against shortages, stabilize local economies, and instill neighborliness), and for the environment (by helping maintain micro- and macro-biologic diversity). - unknown.Farm view

Dear Friends,

As our summer months have rolled along, so have our seasonal population of pesky critters that want to ruin our crops.  We especially have been fighting those disgusting slugs that hide in nooks and crannies and into, especially our lettuces.  So if you've come across these ungodly creatures, rest assured we're on the look and giving everything an extra wash.  If something does slip past us, please let us know and we'll replace your item and double our efforts.  I have a saying .. 'there's about 20 different things that want to eat our crops before  we can get it to you"..

A couple of reminders for our shareholders...

We occasionally run short of an item and make a substitution so if you think you're missing anything, please check to see if something not on the list is included in your delivery.  Also, it's prime vacation time and please be reminded we need a week's notice to skip a delivery.  We've changed our policy about skipping, meaning we abruptly lose that needed income for the week and we're only asking for a 7 day notice.

This coming Saturday, August 17th, we are hosting a tour here at the farm on Monarch Butterflies and the Three Sisters growing technique.  The Three Sisters are classically corn, beans, and winter squash all in the same bed.  Our planting this year has done exceptionally well and we look forward to sharing the method with fellow gardeners, or want to be's.  If you can join us, here is the information:Seabreeze Organic Farm Meet-up Aug. 17th 2pm to 3:15

All of your GreenStore orders are much appreciated and if there are items you'd like us to carry, please drop me a note.

Happy cooking and feel free to contact me if you need help or suggestions--and that includes your likes and dislikes..

I read all the emails.
