Dear Friends,
As I write this, the fire in our mountains east of us grows and there are almost 1,200 men and women on the ground trying to contain and suppress it's progress. We are grateful and indebted to all of them. Those of us that were here when the 2003 Cedar fire devastated our county remember too well what can happen. All of us here at the farm were evacuated and spent a night and day at the Sport's Arena with 4 dogs and 8 ducks not knowing what would happen to everything we left behind. I feel for our mountain friends.
My dear mother fell in her home next to us last Friday and broke her hip. She is recovering after her surgery and this afternoon my sister from Italy and I will be looking into rehab facilities hopefully near the farm. I will continue to be away from the farm during the day for sometime to come over the next few weeks but will continue to answer phone calls and emails as soon as I can. If it takes a day, please understand, and will be back to you as soon as possible.
Your ingredients this week are pretty straight forward and you shouldn't have anything you're unfamiliar with..
