Dear Friends,
Critters..birds of all kinds, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, snakes, opossums, snails and slugs, worms, moths, lizards, frogs, bobcats, coyotes and others I won't mention, all want to live at Seabreeze. Now, I can't say I blame them, after all, where else is there for them to go for clean food and water. And, I admit, I generously feed all the wild birds although we're careful not to leave extra out at night. In my 'parlor' (green house art studio) I keep an old cooking pot with a regular lid on it for storing bird seed. I always set the lid back on, why invite trouble, and have been finding the lid off both in the early morning and sometimes during the day when I knew it was on. No spillage and no 'poop' as a tell tale sign.
So my husband set up a surveillance camera for me and as I was preparing dinner last night the intruder appeared! A pesky little squirrel scampered into view and with a deft flip of his hand, knocked the lid off, filled his checks to capacity and scurried back to the hole in the plastic to gorge and possibly share his bounty. Poor little guy, he'll have to go back to making do with the bird seed droppings.
Have you tried our organic shade-grown, trade fair coffee yet? We can't drink anything else around here..it's so good.
