Winter is the season in which people try to keep the house as warm as it was in the summer, when they complained about the heat. ~Author Unknown

Dear Friends,
Burrr...sorry, couldn't help but say it. The bones are getting older and the office and old farm house have no insulation and no heating...it's like having another job just keeping warm around here. The lettuces have a layer of frost on them early in the morning however I learned many years ago not to cut them when iced. Leave to the (hopefully) morning sun and they thaw out on their own with minimal damage. All the broccoli family, snap peas, carrots and so forth shrug it off too...it's the people the cold settles into.
We've made changes to our Customer Agreement. Negotiations take 2 sides to come to an agreement and truthfully, for years I've tried my best to have shareholders understand from our point of view that we're not a normal business where one can start and stop our service when needed. Especially summers and winter it throws the business into a tail spin.. shareholders cancel, I can't pay the bills and then I'm extra stressed and get a pious attitude about how valuable local farmers are and how we're so misunderstood. Well, I'm head strong. I admit it. That's one of the traits one needs to run a farm and stay in business however I'm going to gamble (it's in a farmers blood to take risks) and be more flexable about 'skipping' now and then and vacation times. Hopefully, this will keep more clients during these high cancellation times to last through the year and we can set a little aside to cope with the drop in income. We'll see.
