How miraculous that growing on my own little plot of land are plants that can turn the dead soil into a hundred flavours as different as horseradish and thyme, smells ranging from stinkhorn to lavender. - John Seymour

Dear Friends,

The weather is decidedly cooler today and puts me back into the mood of wanting to cook again.  I'm thinking a yummy butternut squash (with a little sinful cream or half and half) soup with slivers of scallions would be nice for dinner.  Since it's too late today for the slow cooker, I'll either bake or chop and simmer the squash (the hardest part is cutting the thing into pieces) until tender.  From there it's just a matter of putting into the blender, adding seasonings and a little sour cream or sweet cream swirled in at the end.  A nice salad and some French bread and voila, a nutritious easy dinner.  Enjoy.

It's easy to add items from the Green Store..you just have to remember to do so by Sunday evening for the following week.  Otherwise, your order will be bumped to the week after (although some of you know you can email and we'll get your items in!).

Happy cooking and feel free to contact me if you need help or suggestions.

I read all the emails.
