Glory to God: The Presbyterian Hymnal Our new hymnal is in the process of being typeset and proofread. It has been enthusiastically received across the denomination. The Publishing House reports sales are high. Charlie Frost has given several presentations to churches in our Presbytery. The Hymn Festival at our last Presbytery Meeting was well received. He knows of several churches who have ordered the hymnal. If your church has ordered it, would you please let Charlie know? He is tracking our progress with the hymnal.
Remember, Charlie is available to come to your church to give a presentation. Or, feel free to contact him with any questions you might have. You can contact Charlie at cfrost@sipcnet.org or 843-525-0696.

Being Reformed: Faith Seeking Understanding The two newest six session studies:
The Prophets Still Speak by Patricia K. Tull
Old Testament Prophets were concerned with many of the same issues as Christians today: issues of righteousness, obedience, social justice, and visions of hope for the future. This study explores how what the prophets proclaimed to the people of their time still has urgency and importance for our time as well.
Reading the Bible for Understanding by James E. Davison This study introduces important means to consider when interpreting different parts of the Bible: narratives, poetry and wisdom, letters. It also reviews what Reformed and Presbyterian Christians believe about the nature of the Bible, and texts and translations that are available to us.

Mediation Skills Training Institute for Church Leaders This training opportunity is to be held March 11 - 15, 2013 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conflict is normal and inevitable - whether in the home, school, community, church or workplace. Leaders in all walks of life often have a responsibility to help others work through their conflicts. The Mediation Skills Training Institute presented by the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center (LMPC) is designed to equip church leaders with the skills necessary to deal effectively with interpersonal, congregational, and other forms of group conflict. The five-day institute also includes a component on congregational mediation and consultation, placed within the context of family systems theory. Although focused primarily on the church setting, the skills learned are directly transferable to other settings. Thus, managers in business, attorneys, experienced mediators, and others in leadership will be enriched by the training as well. Click here to download the registration brochure.
