Holiday Bookplate Special
Want to give your friends a special gift?
To celebrate and thank the many independent bookstores he's worked with over the years, Garth Stein is providing indies around the nation with special commemorative bookplates for the holiday season. The bookplates are suitable for any of Garth's novels - Raven Stole the Moon, How Evan Broke His Head, and The Art of Racing in the Rain.
Independent bookstores can request generic bookplates with a simple Garth Stein autograph, or they can order personalized bookplates free of charge by gathering and sending us a list of the gift recipients and the title of the book ordered by 5 pm December 13. (Due to demand, Garth will not be able to personalize messages, just the name of the gift recipient.)
To see if your local independent is participating, call or drop by and ask the bookseller on duty. If they haven't signed up for the special, the details are at www.garthstein.com/holiday_bookplates or they can contact us at info@terracommunications.net. Please note that these bookplates are available only through local bookstores. Please support your local Indies!

Chinese Ravens Arrive In The US
The arrival of Raven Stole the Moon's simplified Chinese precipitated a spontaneous contest. Six lucky fans who correctly answered the question "According to Jenna, what does God smell like?" received signed copies of the Chinese edition. Congrats to winners Susan, Christine, Sandy, Orlonda, Kelly, and Kimberly!

14/48: World's Quickest Theater Festival
Two nights. Seven writers. Fourteen plays in 48 hours.
Mark your calendars for January, when Garth takes part in Seattle's 14/48 theater festival. This two-day contribution to artistic insanity and panic gives writers one caffeine-fueled night to write a ten-minute play. Next morning, directors and cast gather to cast, rehearse, and produce the newly written plays for an evening debut. The whole process is then repeated the following night. Seven writers, forty-eight hours, fourteen plays.... Find out more, here.
